Questionnaire on sea food and the health of the ocean

During our visit to Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca we served seafood from Sweden and Spain. The students were asked to fill out a questionnaire on sea food and the health of the ocean. Here are some of the replies we received.

How would you convince a friend to eat more sea food?
"It's  better to eat fish every day than meat  - if the fish are fished in a good way" (Elvira, 16)
"Have them eat salmon and herring that is well-made, since it's so good" (Victor, 15)
"Show them it's good and healthy, present it nicely" (Elsa, 16)
"Teach them good recipes and tell them the importance of eating healthy food" (Siri, 16)
"It's delicious and contributes a lot of nutrients and minerals that help the development of the brain" (Paula, 16)
"I wouldn't because there are lots of toxic material in fish due to human pollution of the ocean, which is bad for our health" (Marie Claire, 15)
"Visit a seafood restaurant and ask the waiter for recommendations" (Armin, 15)
"Make them try different types to see which ones they like" (Irene, 15)
"I would tell them it's healthy and that it's a better choice for the environment" (Ludvig, 16)
"I'll take them to a restaurant and make he or she prove different dishes" (Marta, 16)
"I would tell them that fish is better for your body and that the omega-3 makes you smart" (Ella, 16)
"Tell them it's healthy and that it tastes really good and nice. I, myself, love seafood and it would be nice if more people start to eat with me" (Fredrik, 15)

Is it important to you that the Ocean is healthy? Why? Why not?
"I think it's important to take care of every place on this planet, it's the only one we've got" (Ebba, 16)
"It's important because if the ocean isn't healthy there would be no life in it. Thus, we wouldn't be able to eat seafood and a great number of jobs will disappear. This will have a crucial effect not only on our diet but on our economy" (Enrique, 17)
"Yes, because it's part of our world and without a healthy ocean the fish will also become unhealthy" (Claudia, 15)
"I think it's important but it's hard to realize it's polluted since you never see any signs. It's easier to see this on land. But we need to become better because if we take care of the Earth, it will take care of us" (Victor, 15)
If the ocean isn't healthy then the things we eat from the ocean isn't healthy" (Hanna, 16)
Yes, the ocean is a big part of the world and we can't survive without it" (Elsa, 16)
"It's very important for me. I live by the sea, so I see the unhealthy sea every day" (Siri, 16)
"Yes, it's important because it's one of the most important sources of food and it's home to more than half of the organisms on Earth, in general" (Paula, 16)
"Very important. As a surfer, I appreciate when the water is clean and nice. It's more dangerous for surfers when the water is dirty" (Charles, 17)
"Very important because it's home to so many wonderful species of organisms. Also if the ocean is healthy, we can eat fish without added unwanted substances" (Marie Claire, 15)
"For me it's important that the sea is healthy because we're surrounded by the sea and there are animals living in the sea" (Armin, 15)
"Because we eat food from the ocean and it's important for us that this food is not contaminated" (Clare, 14)
"I want to have a clean and healthy ocean because it feels depressing when it's not" (Matea, 16)
"Yes, because without healthy oceans beaches are dirty and ugly" (Maria, 15)
"I think it's very important because all life is connected to the sea and if the sea unhealthy so will everything else be" (Ludvig, 16)
"Not much because I don't eat seafood, so for me the ocean isn't really important" (Pau, 16)
"Yes, because the animals that live there need it" (Maria, 16)
"Yes, it's important. We have to be careful with the ocean for coming generations" (Marta, 16)
"It's very important that the ocean is healthy because I don't want the fishes and other organisms to become extinct. And I also like to be able to swim in the ocean" (Ella, 16)
"The sea is the better half of me and it's really important to me that it stays healthy. Sadly, some people don't think the same as I do" (Fredrik, 15)
